Moldova raids real estate firm in €690,000 laundering case

Moldovan law enforcement officers and anti-organized crime prosecutors have conducted 26 raids targeting a real estate company involved in a €690,000 (approx. 13.5 million MDL) money laundering scheme.
The funds allegedly originated from tax evasion, smuggling, and illegal business operations.
The financial mechanism
Investigators reveal that the company injected the illicit capital into the financial system through fraudulent loan agreements.
These contracts were signed between the company’s founders, administrators, and the corporate entity itself.
The suspects used the money to pay for construction work, purchase materials, and secure services from various local firms.
Part of the funds was also transferred to commercial entities operating abroad.
Seized assets and evidence
During the operations, officers seized mobile phones, electronic devices, credit cards, and undocumented luxury goods.
The confiscated items included un-ticketed clothing, footwear, and leather accessories.
Police also recovered cash in various currencies worth over €255,000 (approx. 5 million MDL).
Logistics documents, loan agreements, and receipts tied to a transport company were also taken for analysis.
All seized assets and documents will undergo forensic examination as the criminal investigation continues under the presumption of innocence.
