The date of 06/26/2026 saw 240 couples unite to formalize their relationships together, marking a memorable numerical alignment that many considered symbolic.

According to the Public Services Agency (ASP), of the 240 couples, only 43 chose to hold a formal ceremony, while the remaining 197 registered their marriage at the civil status service counters.

The ASP notes that many couples selected the date 26.06.2026, a "mirror" date, for its symbolic significance and ease of remembrance.

The agency emphasizes that each marriage registered on this day marks "the beginning of a new family story." The ASP extends its best wishes to all newlyweds for "love, understanding, and a life full of joy together."

The number of registered marriages in the Republic of Moldova continues to decline. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, a total of 14.8 thousand marriages were solemnized in 2024, representing a 6% decrease compared to 2023.

In 2024, most men who married were between 25 and 29, while most women were between 20 and 24. This resulted in an average age at first marriage of 30 years for men and 27 years for women.
