Known as the Blue Sharks, the squad previously earned hard-fought draws against football powerhouses, tying 0-0 with Spain and 2-2 with Uruguay. Cape Verde moves to the knockout stage with three points.
The archipelago nation now faces a historic showdown against world champions Argentina. The highly anticipated match is scheduled for July 4.
