CNA and Anti Corruption Prosecutors search MoldATSA

Officers from the National Anticorruption Center, under the direction of the Anti Corruption Prosecutor's Office, are searching the headquarters of MoldATSA. The searches are part of a criminal investigation into reasonable suspicions of aggravated abuse of office, CNA officials told Moldova 1 TV.
According to the authorities, the criminal case was opened shortly after the company completed an institutional integrity assessment.
"The investigative actions aim to gather the evidence needed to establish all the facts of the case and ensure a full, objective, and comprehensive investigation," the National Anticorruption Center said.
In recent weeks, MoldATSA, the company responsible for managing Moldova's airspace, has been at the center of a major scandal. Former Director Dumitru Vangheli obtained the position after providing false information in his CV.
The company also came under scrutiny over its high salaries. Before his dismissal, Vangheli earned nearly 110,000 lei per month.
Former MoldATSA spokesperson Anastasia Taburceanu earned a monthly salary of 120,000 lei. Taburceanu, who is also President Maia Sandu's cousin, has since resigned.
The scandal triggered several other resignations. On June 29, ruling Party of Action and Solidarity lawmaker Radu Marian announced that he was stepping down as chair of Parliament's Committee on Economy, Budget, and Finance.
Later that evening, Roman Cojuhari also resigned as director general of the Public Property Agency, about a week after the MoldATSA scandal broke.
Cojuhari accepted responsibility for the agency's failure to more closely monitor the financial decisions made by MoldATSA's former management.
