Moldovan students achieve top results at international Physics Olympiad

The Olympic team from the Republic of Moldova won a gold medal, a bronze medal, and a special prize at the Balkan Physics Olympiad held in Istanbul from June 27 to 30.

Victor Sandu won the gold medal, while Daria Boguș secured the bronze medal, both representing the “Orizont” Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău.

The special prize was awarded to Damian Mîrza, a student from the “Aristotel” Republican Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), the eighth edition of the Balkan Physics Olympiad featured 51 students from 13 countries.

The Republic of Moldova was represented by four students at the Balkan Physics Olympiad. Doctors of Science Sergiu Cârlig and Serghei Bâzgan served as the teachers accompanying our students to the competition.
