New water towers improve services for 500 residents in Moldova

Residents of Pietrosu in Fălești District, Moldova, now benefit from a more reliable and stable drinking water supply following the modernization of the local water system under the national “European Village” program.

The project introduced two new water towers, replacing an outdated facility built in 2008 that had a significantly lower capacity and was no longer able to meet community demand. The upgraded system ensures stable water pressure and improved service quality.

The new infrastructure supplies 265 households, covering approximately 500 residents, as well as four public institutions, including the kindergarten, town hall, family doctor’s office, and post office, along with two local businesses.

Officials from the National Office for Regional and Local Development stated that the investment strengthens public service delivery and improves living conditions through modernized local infrastructure.

The investment, financed through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, amounts to approximately €84,000.

Municipal authorities also announced a forthcoming project under the “Europe is Close” program, which will upgrade the road linking Măgura to Pietrosu, improving access to essential services including shops, the church, and the cemetery.

The commune of Pietrosu, which includes Pietrosu, Măgura, and Măgura Nouă, has more than 620 residents, including over 160 children.
