The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova says it remains in close contact with Romanian authorities after a bus carrying around 70 Moldovan citizens was involved in a road accident in Romania's Constanța County on Sunday morning. No passengers were injured.

According to the ministry, the bus, registered in Moldova, was travelling to Bulgaria when the accident occurred in the village of 2 Mai. The ministry is coordinating with the Consulate General of Moldova in Iași and the relevant Romanian authorities.

Romanian authorities confirmed that none of the passengers sustained injuries. However, two Romanian police officers travelling in a police vehicle involved in the collision were injured and taken to hospital for medical treatment.

After emergency services completed their response and Romanian authorities finalized procedures at the scene, the passengers resumed their journey to Bulgaria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Romanian authorities for their prompt response and effective cooperation and said it will continue to monitor developments through the Consulate General of Moldova in Iași.
