Zimbru and Dacia-Buiucani win as financial crisis hits Moldovan football

Zimbru Chisinau defeated CSF Balti 3-0 at home during the second round of the Moldovan Super Liga.

Curaçao international Rayvien Rosario opened the scoring for the hosts late in the first half. Brazil's Jonathas Conceicao doubled the advantage immediately after the interval.

Stefan Bitca, who rejoined Zimbru this summer, sealed the 3-0 victory with a late goal.

Following the match, CSF Balti announced via its official online channels that the club's future remains highly uncertain due to severe financial distress. This marks the team's second consecutive league defeat.

In parallel, Dacia-Buiucani Chisinau replicated the 3-0 scoreline against newly-promoted Real Sireti in a match played in Nisporeni.

The Chisinau-based side secured a decisive two-goal lead within the opening 15 minutes of the game. Valeriu Gurgurov scored the opener in the 9th minute, and Sergiu Turcan doubled the lead six minutes later.

Vasile Dumbrava added a third goal in the second half to set the final score.

A day earlier, reigning champions Petrocub Hincesti comprehensively defeated Milsami Orhei 5-0.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Tiraspol suffered a surprising setback, being held to a 0-0 goalless draw by Politehnica-UTM Chisinau.
