ANOFM meets nearly 50% of yearly employment goal

In just two weeks, nearly a thousand people have secured employment through the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). Since the beginning of the year, with assistance from the agency's regional offices, a total of 12,251 job seekers have been hired.

According to data presented by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), the number of people employed since the beginning of the year accounts for approximately 12% of the goal set by authorities to integrate 100,000 individuals into the labor market by 2030. It also represents 48% of the target of 25,000 jobs aimed for the current year.

The individuals who have secured jobs come from various social categories and age groups. This includes people with disabilities, migrants returning to the Republic of Moldova after time spent abroad, and individuals of Roma ethnicity.

Specifically, of the 12,251 people who found jobs with the assistance of ANOFM, 5,175 are women, accounting for 42.2% of the total. Additionally, 2,270 employed individuals are aged 55 and over, and 219 have disabilities.

Regarding registered unemployed individuals, ANOFM successfully placed 3,853 people in the labor market, with more than half—1,983 individuals (51.6%)—being women. Among the employed unemployed, 2,321 individuals come from rural areas, representing 60.4% of the total.

Young people aged between 16 and 35 account for 27.8% of the employed population, totaling 1,067 individuals. Another 758 individuals (19.7%) are aged between 55 and 63. Among those who found employment are also 48 migrants who returned from abroad and 25 Roma individuals.

The majority of new jobs were registered in other collective, social, and personal service activities, where 37.8% of people found employment. This is followed by agriculture at 16.2%, wholesale and retail trade at 14.5%, and industry at 8.2%. The fewest hires occurred in sectors such as transport, storage, and communications, which accounted for just over 2%.

Representatives from ANOFM have announced that the agency will continue to support job seekers through information services, mediation, and facilitating access to employment opportunities.

Citizens seeking information about available jobs, employment conditions, or services offered by ANOFM can call the agency's toll-free Call Center at 0 8000 1000, Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 17:00, or can visit the website at www.angajat.md.
