Penitentiary No. 9 director detained; ANP reacts

On Tuesday, July 8, the Director of Penitentiary No. 9 in Pruncul was detained as part of a criminal investigation led by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. The National Penitentiary Administration (ANP) has confirmed this information and stated that it will cooperate fully with the investigators involved in the case.

Representatives of the National Penitentiary Administration (ANP) emphasize their serious approach to any allegations of legal violations by employees of the penitentiary system. They reaffirm their policy of zero tolerance for corruption and for any actions incompatible with the responsibilities of public servants with special status.

"The National Penitentiary Administration fully cooperates with criminal prosecution authorities and will provide all necessary support for investigations, in accordance with legal provisions," stated ANP representatives.

At this time, the institution has not disclosed specific details regarding the facts under investigation or the accusations against the penitentiary director. They noted that updates on the investigation's progress can only be provided by the competent criminal prosecution authority.
