Maxim Dimov wins U20 European wrestling gold
Moldovan freestyle wrestler Maxim Dimov won the gold medal in the 65 kg weight category at the European Junior Championships for athletes under 20 years old. The competition took place in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Dimov won all four of his matches, defeating Zorab Aloiev of Ukraine, Aleksandar Delchev of Bulgaria, Kizir Dasiev of France, and Aren Airapetian of Armenia.
Athletes from the Republic of Moldova won three bronze medals. Ionuț Triboi, Mădălina Prisăcari, and Alexandra Moisei stood on the podium.
