Strong performance for Moldova at Physics Olympiad in Colombia

Students from Moldova won two silver medals, one bronze medal, and received two honorable mentions at the International Physics Olympiad in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
Silver medals were awarded to Darius Graur and Alex Secrieru, students of the "Orizont" Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău. The bronze medal was won by Victor Sandu, also a student at the same lyceum.
Honorable mentions went to Alexandru Macovei from the "Prometeu-Prim" Creativity and Invention Lyceum in Chisinau, and Daniel Mardari from the "Aristotel" Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău.
The 56th edition of the International Physics Olympiad took place from July 4 to 12, featuring 381 students from 90 countries. The Republic of Moldova was represented by five students and two teachers.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the Moldovan Olympic team was led by doctors of physical sciences, Sergiu Cârlig and Serghei Bâzgan.
