Moldova prepares to showcase local industry at massive 2026 expo

The Moldexpo International Center will host the second edition of the "Produs autohton" (Local Product) national exhibition from August 28 to 30. This year’s event marks a significant scaling of Moldova’s commercial ambitions, with organizers expecting a record turnout of over 50,000 visitors.
Strategic expansion and trade
The event transcends local borders, with invitations extended to 178 partner chambers of commerce across 80 countries. Sergiu Harea, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), confirmed that a delegation led by the vice-president of Eurochambres will attend. This move aims to leverage Moldova's diaspora as a key ambassador for local exports.
Growth in numbers
Interest from the business sector has tripled since 2025. Over 300 companies have secured space across 4,000 square meters, spanning the agro-food, industrial, and artisanal sectors. An 800-square-meter pavilion will be dedicated exclusively to the national carpet, highlighting Moldova's cultural heritage.
Record-breaking innovations
The 2026 edition introduces the "Pie Festival" and the "Winery Top." On August 29, the event will attempt a regional gastronomic record: baking the largest cherry pie in the region. These initiatives aim to boost brand visibility, building on the 15-20% export growth previously observed in the frozen pastry segment following similar promotional efforts.
Applications for manufacturers remain open until July 31, subject to availability.
