France marks Bastille Day As military parade signals unity

France celebrated its National Day on July 14 with a grand military parade along the Champs-Élysées, highlighting the theme of "Europe's strategic reawakening."
President Emmanuel Macron presided over the event alongside 25 foreign heads of state and government, including Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Romanian counterpart Nicușor Dan.
More than 10,000 troops marched through central Paris, supported by 80 aircraft, 33 helicopters, and state-of-the-art military vehicles.
A contingent from the Republic of Moldova participated for the second time in the parade, joining over 500 European service members. Elysee officials stated the display demonstrates France's readiness to lead multinational operations.
Festivities began the previous evening with a light display around the Eiffel Tower.
France marks its National Day annually on July 14 to commemorate the 1789 storming of the Bastille, a key moment that led to the fall of the monarchy and the birth of the French Republic.
