The Republic of Moldova has transposed 83% of all EU energy directives into national legislation
The Republic of Moldova has transposed 83% of all European Union directives in the energy sector into national legislation - said Energy Minister Victor Parlicov at the public hearings on the progress of the implementation of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, organised by the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration. According to the official, last year our country made the greatest progress of all the member countries of the Energy Community.

Although the Republic of Moldova achieved the best results last year in the implementation of the Energy Community's provisions, it is still in the middle of the ranking in terms of implementation of the acquis communautaire, which includes other areas - said Energy Minister Victor Parlicov.
"On the energy dimension, 83% of the total EU legislation has already been transposed into the national regulatory framework. We have some delays - two regulations related to energy efficiency and the law on the availability of oil stocks and two action plans".
The infrastructure sector offers the highest visibility for EU-funded projects, including renewable energy. Parliament is therefore interested to see as much progress as possible in this segment, beyond the legislative aspect," stressed Radu Marian, chairman of Parliament's Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance.
Doina Gherman, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, said that Parliament was ready to provide support, including in the drafting of legislation, while calling for an acceleration of the pace of recruitment and training of staff in the direct process of harmonising national legislation with European legislation.
Concerning the construction of the high-voltage power line between Vulcanesti and Chisinau, which will lay the foundations for the connection of the electricity system in Romania with that in the Republic of Moldova, Minister Victor Parlicov said that two of the three types of pylons have already been tested, which is an important step for the start of construction.
The construction of the Chisinau-Vulcanesti line is part of a larger project that also includes the modernisation of the Chisinau power station and the construction of the back-to-back power station in Vulcanesti. The value of the entire project financed by the World Bank is €270 million.
