Moldova presidency rejects trash document claims

The Office of the President of Moldova has rejected claims that official state documents were dumped at a landfill, following viral social media videos.

Officials clarified that the envelope shown in the video dates back to 2018 and was part of processed correspondence that had already reached its recipient.

Post office entry and exit stamps confirm the mail completed its standard delivery route, meaning the document was no longer within institutional custody.

The presidential administration emphasized that once correspondence is delivered, the recipient is solely responsible for its retention or disposal.

The institution reaffirmed that all official records are managed, archived, and secured in strict compliance with national legal standards.
