Prime Minister-designate Vasile Tofan and his cabinet will present their governance program and seek a vote of confidence in Parliament on Tuesday, July 21, at 11:00 AM. The schedule was confirmed following a meeting of the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) parliamentary faction.

Igor Grosu, PAS leader and Speaker of Parliament, stated that Moldova requires an active government capable of taking decisive action, delivering results, and transparently communicating the necessity of reforms to the public. He added that the full list of cabinet nominees will be announced shortly.

President Maia Sandu nominated the 44-year-old entrepreneur and investor on July 11, following the resignation of former Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu on July 3.

Economic reform focus

Tofan aims to position Moldova as one of the most business-friendly European nations by stimulating economic growth and strengthening public trust in state institutions.

His key policy priorities include capping public sector wages, streamlining the state bureaucracy, mandating annual international audits for state-owned enterprises, and implementing fiscal reforms.

Throughout the week, the Prime Minister-designate held consultations with interim ministers, business associations, civil society, and lawmakers. Sources indicate that the new cabinet will largely retain the current ministerial team, with only two or three new appointments expected.
