Grinăuți mill targets exports after major investment
A modern milling facility located in the northern part of the country produces flour and bran using wheat sourced from local farmers. The milling complex is situated in the village of Grinăuți, in the Râșcani district. This initiative was launched by Ruslan Ioxa, who, despite lacking a family background in milling, successfully established the business.
"We can't claim to have a dynasty of millers; our family has never been involved with mills. We used flour from the village mill that was produced for family needs at the time. The idea for our own mill emerged about five years ago while we were exploring ways to diversify our income. Now, the mill is operational, including both the building and the equipment", Ruslan Ioxa said during Radio Moldova's "Zi de Zi" show.
He mentioned that representatives from the Ministry of Economy visited the mill to assess how the project was implemented through the state aid program. Based on their impressions, the officials were pleased with the results achieved by the beneficiary.
Ruslan Ioxa also pointed out that the biggest challenges came from seasonal business fluctuations and the climatic conditions affecting the project's implementation. He emphasized that the primary goals of the business are quality and job creation:
"First and foremost, we aim to produce a quality product and create jobs. The project plans to generate at least 20 jobs and invest in training young people. Part of our staff is being trained in assembly, equipment operation, and other roles vital to the production process," the entrepreneur explained.
At his mill, the technology used is modern and state-of-the-art. He noted that the mill's focus extends to both domestic and international markets:
"We are targeting the European and Asian markets. We are assessing our reach and have already produced a certain quantity of flour and bran. Local farmers can bring their wheat practically at any time. However, it takes time for the wheat to mature and be suitable for grinding," Ruslan Ioxa said in an interview with journalist Daniela Gherman.
Regarding investments, he stated that the project's total value is 17 million lei.
