Competition for Energocom chief narrows to two candidates
The Board of S.A. "Energocom" has advanced two candidates to the next stage of the competition for the position of general director of the company. The candidates are Sergiu Ceban and Eugeniu Buzatu. Another candidate was not considered because he did not meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the regulations, as announced by the Public Property Agency (APP).
The competition for the position of General Director of S.A. "Energocom" was organized in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 1134/1997 on joint-stock companies, Law no. 121/2007 regarding the administration and denationalization of public property, as well as based on the company's statute.
After reviewing the applications and verifying the candidates' eligibility, the company's Board decided not to advance candidate No. 1 to the next stage of the competition because he did not meet the participation requirements specified in the Regulation.
The Board approved advancing the following candidates to the next stage of the competition: Sergiu Ceban and Eugeniu Buzatu.
The announcement states that information on the date, time, and location of the next stage will be communicated to admitted candidates in accordance with the Regulation.
According to the submitted CV, Sergiu Ceban is a manager and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the administration of commercial companies, operational development, digitalization, and management within the energy sector. He currently oversees multiple companies in electricity and natural gas, including those involved in renewable energy production, electricity supply, and natural gas sales. Additionally, he previously led the municipal enterprise "Infocom," where he coordinated data processing, billing, and IT services. His experience also includes participation in wholesale energy markets, relationships with system operators, and the execution of digitalization projects.
The second candidate admitted to the next stage, Eugeniu Buzatu, has served as the interim General Director of S.A. "Energocom" since December 2024. He previously worked as an advisor to the company's General Director from July 2022 to December 2024. Buzatu has also held positions within the State Fiscal Service, including a role as a criminal investigation officer in the General Anti-Fraud Directorate, and has several years of experience in notarial and legal consulting. He holds a law degree from "Spiru Haret" University in Bucharest.
