Degraded area in Telenești revitalized with 33 million lei investment

One of the most degraded areas in Telenești is becoming history. The city is undergoing a remarkable transformation due to a public spaces modernization project valued at 33 million lei, with local authorities contributing approximately four million lei.
The first visible results of the project "Modernization of the infrastructure of public spaces in the revitalization area of Telenești town" are beginning to take shape. The parking lot in front of the Sports Complex has been constructed and paved, providing approximately 50 spaces. Concurrently, preparations are underway for the roundabout at the intersection of 8 Martie str. and Ștefan cel Mare str., and construction of the sidewalk along Ștefan cel Mare str. is ongoing.
Additionally, work has commenced on pedestrian access to the future parking lot located behind the residential blocks on Ștefan cel Mare str. The sites for two access points to the parking lot adjacent to the Health Center have been prepared, and the construction of the rainwater drainage channel on Pavel Boțu street is also continuing.

Upon completion of the project, Telenești will benefit from modernized roads and sidewalks, new parking lots in public areas, and a safer and friendlier urban space for residents and visitors.
The project started from an urban revitalization plan developed following consultations with citizens, with the most degraded area of the city being selected for interventions, says the mayor of Telenești, Vadim Lelic.
“Following the discussion with citizens, a revitalization plan for the city of Telenești was approved. The most degraded area in Telenești was selected,” the mayor told Teleradio-Moldova.
According to him, the project is being implemented according to schedule and is closely linked to the investments made in the Sports Complex area.
*"It is a very important project for our locality. Parking lots will be built, gutters will be built and cleaned. Basically, it is a project related to the construction of the Sports Complex in Telenești. In front of the sports complex, an area of approximately 3,000 square meters is already paved, where there will be over 100 parking spaces. It is a long-awaited project,"*mentioned Vadim Lelic.
The mayor claims that the benefits will be felt directly by residents through improved urban infrastructure and access to public areas.
"The benefit, first of all, will be that the city will look better. There will be parking lots, access roads. Naturally, there are benefits for the residents", said the mayor of Telenești.
The local authorities are planning several investments in the town. These include completing the Sports Complex, with a project estimated to cost approximately 18 million lei; expanding sewage networks in areas that are not yet connected; and rehabilitating a nursery group with an investment of about 9 million lei. They are also implementing a project funded by the "Europe is Close" program and continuing investments through the DAR 1+3 program.
According to Mayor Vadim Lelic, the local administration will keep working to identify the necessary funds to modernize the infrastructure and services provided to citizens. This is a crucial step, especially in light of the voluntary amalgamation of localities in the area.
