Labor market in Moldova: Unemployment figures for early year job placements
This year, over 15,000 individuals have secured jobs through the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). Among the beneficiaries, 4,525 are registered unemployed individuals, along with 346 people employed as daily workers or for fixed terms of up to three months.
Profile of employed persons
Among the total of 15,083 individuals who secured employment:
- 42.1% are women (6,343 individuals).
- 18.3% are over 55 years of age (2,760 individuals).
- 1.7% are persons with disabilities (255 individuals).
- 0.5% are migrants who have returned from abroad (72 individuals).
- 46 individuals identify as Roma.
Within the strict category of registered unemployed individuals (4,525 persons), more than half of those employed are women (2,371 individuals) and rural residents (2,667 individuals).
Additionally, 1,258 are young people between the ages of 16 and 35, while 878 are aged 55 to 63.
Economic sectors with the most employment
The highest job placements were reported in the services sector (34.2%), followed by agriculture (17.5%) and wholesale and retail trade (14.4%).
Conversely, the sectors with the fewest job placements were health and social assistance (3.8%), education (2.7%), and transport, storage, and communications (2.2%).
