Ștefan cel Mare blvd. was blocked by protesters for two hours. Marina Tauber: The protests will continue
Several people gathered in front of Parliament today to demand that the authorities pay their gas, electricity and heating bills for the winter months. The protesters also demanded early parliamentary elections. Moreover, Prime Minister Dorin Recean claims that some of the participants come to the protests because of misinformation.
Today, traffic on Ștefan cel Mare and Sfânt boulevard was stopped for two hours, because the People's Movement took people to the streets to ask the Government to pay their bills. Supporters of the movement chanted "Down with Maia Sandu, Early Elections, Sign and Pay".
Protesters complained that pensions and wages were too low and could not keep up with expenses. At the same time, several citizens were dissatisfied with the fact that traffic in Chisinau was stopped due to the protest.
The Deputy of the Şor Party, Marina Tauber, declared that the Movement for the People will continue to organize protests and asked the Parliament to adopt the faction's initiative that provides for the full payment of bills during the cold period of the year. "Our legislative initiative was not included in today's agenda of the Parliament and the representatives of the parliamentary majority did not hear us, no one from the opposition came here. Our protests will continue for as long as necessary", said Marina Tauber.
There are enough vacant jobs in the Republic of Moldova, but some protesters participate in demonstrations because they are paid to destabilize the situation in the country, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
"Instead of coming and working, they take money to cause destabilization. As a result of the justice reform, the Shor group, their supporters and illegal financiers, including from Russia, are punished, imprisoned, and then everyone will return to their jobs, said the Prime Minister.
We remind you that previously both the President Maia Sandu and the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, declared that the protests of the Movement for the People are part of the hybrid war through which the Russian Federation tries to divert the European course of the Republic of Moldova.
