Security and defense personnel gathered under the National Defense Platform: "A stronger response for a safer Moldova"
In Chișinău, the National Defense Platform has begun its activity, a pilot initiative created to strengthen the institutional resilience of the Republic of Moldova. The platform brings together all public institutions in the security and defense sector, with the role of ensuring the continuous training of their employees.
The initiative is jointly implemented by the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Defence, with the support of the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Centre in Bucharest, Romania.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Ghenadie Cojocaru, and Head of the NATO Liaison Office, Agne Gleveckaite, underscored the importance of this cooperation framework for the country’s security and defence institutions.
At the first seminar organized within the platform, the officials noted that a stronger institutional response to complex defence and security challenges means a stronger and safer Moldova.
“The National Defence Platform aims to facilitate civilian personnel’s understanding of national defence priorities, while also clarifying institutional roles and interoperability in the event of potential crisis situations”, reads a statement from the NATO Liaison Office.
The project is funded under the NATO-Republic of Moldova Professional Development Programme and reflects NATO’s continued commitment to supporting Moldova’s institutional resilience across the whole of government.
