Prime Minister of Romania and the Parliament Speaker of Latvia discussed the situation in the Republic of Moldova

The importance of boosting cooperation in the context of the challenges caused by Russia's war in Ukraine and the need to strengthen joint European and Euro-Atlantic action were discussed by the Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă, with the Parliament Speaker of the Republic of Latvia, Edvards Smiltēns.

The exchange of views between the officials highlighted the similarity of positions regarding the security situation in the East, in the context of the multidimensional effects of the war in Ukraine. At the same time, the importance of ensuring political and financial support for strengthening the resilience of the Republic of Moldova was emphasized.

The debates were also an opportunity for an exchange of ideas on the priorities for the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative, which will be hosted in Bucharest this fall.
