Mihai Popșoi visits Canada to meet his counterpart and speak at the "Pathways to Peace" conference

Mihai Popșoi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, is paying a working visit to Canada on September 27–28. In Toronto, the head of Moldovan diplomacy will hold a meeting with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand.

The discussions will focus on the priorities of Moldova-Canada relations and the development of cooperation in areas of common interest, with an emphasis on economic and investment partnerships, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău.

Also, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will deliver a speech at the second Ministerial Conference dedicated to the return of Ukrainian children, detained civilians, and prisoners of war, under the theme „Pathways to Peace”.

The event is hosted by Canada and jointly organized with Ukraine and Norway.

The visit's agenda also includes a meeting with members of the Moldovan community living in Canada.

Work on developing the French Park in Ungheni is progressing. Workers are currently building access paths, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and sports grounds, and have already installed hundreds of meters of water supply and sewage networks. Vasile Tofan announces Moldova's bid for the UN General Assembly presidency

"Countries are not buffer zones. Nations are not bargaining chips." Prime Minister Vasile Tofan delivered this message on Saturday, September 26, from the podium at the UN General Assembly, where he accused Russia of pressuring the Republic of Moldova and called for the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Transnistrian region. Tofan stated that the Republic of Moldova determines its own future and that European integration is its national project. At the same time, the Prime Minister announced Moldova's bid for the presidency of the 82nd session of the UN General Assembly.
