Estonia's Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna will visit Moldova to meet Maia Sandu and Mihai Popșoi

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on 5-6 October, where he will hold meetings with President Maia Sandu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi and other officials. The visit also includes the inauguration of the Estonian Embassy in Chișinău, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announces.

The Estonian foreign minister's visit will span two days and include several official events in Chișinău and Bălți.

On the first day of the visit, Margus Tsahkna will meet with his Moldovan counterpart, Mihai Popșoi. After the talks, the two officials will hold a joint press conference.

„On Monday, October 5, following the meeting, the two counterparts, Mihai Popșoi and Margus Tsahkna, will hold a joint press conference, starting at 16:10, at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova”, the institution states. The two ministers' statements will also be available to watch online.

During the visit, the Estonian minister will also meet with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. The agenda also includes talks with other Moldovan officials.

Another important moment of the visit will be the inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Chișinău, a diplomatic institution intended to strengthen relations between the two states.

On the second day of the visit, the foreign ministers of the Republic of Moldova and Estonia will travel to Bălți, „where they will participate in the official launch of the IMPACT North project, aimed at regional development in support of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova”, reads the statement of the MFA.

The visit to Bălți will continue at Alecu Russo State University, where the two ministers will deliver a joint public lecture.
