Maria Vinițchi, the music teacher: "We need to make children curious"
On Teachers' Day, we celebrate those who not only teach but also inspire entire generations. We can find such examples in every school. The Moldova 1 TV team visited the village of Scoreni in the Strășeni district and met Maria Vinițchi, a music teacher with a special gift: the ability to discover talent in every child.

Maria Viniţchi began her career 50 years ago. She taught French and served as principal of the Scoreni secondary school, which has since been reorganized into a lyceum. Even after retiring, she couldn't stay away from the children.
"It was very stressful when I started coming to school only two days a week. Because I was implementing so many projects, I used to stay at school until 2:00 AM. I see myself among the students; I can't imagine my life any other way than being with them," said Maria Viniţchi.
Students attend her music classes with enthusiasm and great curiosity. They appreciate her dedication, patience, and commitment.
"I like Ms. Maria's lessons because they are interesting; many students participate actively, and the atmosphere is calm."
"We find it interesting to learn new things, and we look forward to using the musical instruments to play and learn."
Maria Viniţchi has inspired some of her students to pursue a career in teaching; now, they are her colleagues.
"I was Ms. Maria's student; I sang in the choir she organized and took part in various festivals. She is a deeply dedicated educator, and we were thrilled when she played the piano for us," noted Maria Diaconu, a PE teacher.
Maria Viniţchi says that every generation of students is different, and the greatest challenge lies in sparking and maintaining their interest. “They have everything these days, and just imagine—we have to spark their interest and awaken their curiosity.”
Thus, teaching is not merely a profession but a true vocation. Educators help shape character and cultivate in every child the desire to discover, learn, and grow.

A total of over 45,000 teaching and management staff work within the education system of the Republic of Moldova. Including non-teaching, administrative, and auxiliary personnel, the sector employs more than 60,000 people.
World Teachers' Day, a UNESCO initiative launched in 1994, is observed annually on October 5. This day highlights the importance of education in societal development and teachers' essential contribution to shaping new generations.
