CECG has registered 71 candidates for deputy in Gagauzia's People's Assembly

Another 37 candidates for deputy seats in the People's Assembly of Gagauzia have been officially registered for the November 15 elections. As of October 8, the number of registered candidates has reached 71, according to the Central Electoral Council of Gagauzia (CECG).

Of these, political parties have nominated 30, while 41 are running as independents.

Meanwhile, the region's electoral authority has issued a decision refusing to register one candidate.

Another 66 applications are currently under review, the CECG stated.

The constituency electoral councils in Comrat, Ceadâr-Lunga, and Vulcănești continue to assess the submitted applications and must decide on registration or rejection within seven days of submission.

The deadline for submitting candidate registration documents was October 6.

In total, 138 candidates have been nominated for seats in the People's Assembly of Gagauzia.


Elections for the People's Assembly of Gagauzia are scheduled for November 15, 2026. The vote will elect 35 deputies to the regional legislature.

Elections for Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia will take place on the same day. Eight candidates have entered the race, of whom four have been officially registered.
