Moldova completes delivery of 240,000 flu vaccine doses

Moldova’s National Agency for Public Health has received a second batch of 120,000 flu vaccine doses, completing the 240,000-dose supply procured for the 2026–2027 season.
Vaccines distributed to healthcare facilities
The vaccines are being distributed to regional public health centres before being delivered to healthcare facilities for immunisation. They are intended for people in designated occupational groups and those at increased risk of illness.
The Ministry of Health procured a total of 240,000 doses for the 2026–2027 flu season using funds from the National Health Insurance Company’s preventive measures fund.
According to the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP), the seasonal flu vaccine comes in a pre-filled syringe containing a 0.5-millilitre dose. Its composition follows World Health Organization recommendations for the Northern Hemisphere.

Authorities recommend vaccination to prevent severe illness
“Influenza vaccination remains one of the most effective measures for preventing flu and its complications, reducing the risk of severe illness, hospitalisations and consequences for public health,” ANSP said in a statement.
The flu vaccine can be administered alongside other vaccines in accordance with medical recommendations and indications. These include routine vaccinations and vaccines recommended for adults against diphtheria and tetanus, as well as pneumococcal vaccines.
The first 120,000 doses of the 240,000 procured for the 2026–2027 cold season arrived in the Republic of Moldova on October 8.
