Alexandrin Guțu misses out on Greco-Roman wrestling world title

Greco-Roman wrestler Alexandrin Guțu missed the chance to become world champion. In the final, Azerbaijan's Sanan Suleimanov defeated the Moldovan 3–8. Guțu made a strong impression in Astana; on the first day of the competition in Kazakhstan, he won four straight matches in the under-77 kg weight category. The final against Sanan Suleimanov took place on Sunday, October 25.
Under these circumstances, Alexandrin Guţu missed the chance to match the achievement of another Greco-Roman wrestler—Victor Ciobanu—who became a world champion in 2021.
Sanan Suleimanov also holds two World Championship silver medals and a continental title won in 2020.
