Over 258,000 ballots set for Gagauzia governor and assembly votes

Electoral authorities will print more than 258,000 ballots for the dual regional elections in Moldova's autonomous region of Gagauzia scheduled for Nov. 15, officials said.
Trilingual ballot distribution
A total of 129,390 ballots will be produced for the race to elect the region's governor, known as the Bashkan, with an identical volume allocated for the vote to seat 35 deputies in the People's Assembly. Ballots will be printed in three languages: Russian, Gagauz, and Romanian.
Russian accounts for the overwhelming majority, with 100,740 ballots commissioned for each race. Regional printers will also issue 20,500 ballots in Gagauz and 8,150 in Romanian per election.
Under standard procedures set out in the Electoral Code, the papers will move first to district electoral councils before delivery to local precinct bureaus. Data from the State Register of Voters managed by Moldova's Central Electoral Commission showed 129,179 citizens eligible to vote in the autonomous territory as of Oct. 23.
