ARGO Center in Florești supports children and adults with special needs through a European project

In Florești district, inclusion is not merely a concept, but a reality built day by day. With the support of the European Union, the ARGO Therapy and Education Center was established here, where children and adults with special needs receive medical, educational, and therapeutic services tailored to their specific requirements. The project was designed to ensure the center could remain operational even after the initial funding concluded; today, ARGO continues its work using its own resources, providing support to dozens of children and their families.

The center is equipped with facilities for the physical and psychological rehabilitation of children and adults. Services include physiotherapy, nutritional therapy, and psychotherapy for children aged three to eight, as well as massage therapy for adults with rheumatological, neurological, orthopedic, or respiratory conditions.

"I recently began bringing my little boy, Arsenie—he’s two years old—to the center. We are working on speech stimulation. We are very pleased with what we’ve found here. What stands out most is the professionalism, commitment, and dedication shown in working with each child", says Victoria Ceapă.

"I personally have undergone physiotherapy procedures and massage therapy. Naturally, I feel great. I highly recommend it", says Diana Burca, another beneficiary.

Specialists help them build skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

"There are children with intellectual disabilities, attention deficits, or speech impairments—the latter requiring a speech therapist. We provide school readiness training, as well as childcare services", says educational psychologist Ana Slutu.

The center was established with the support of the European Union, through an investment of over 36,000 euros. Currently, the institution sustains itself using its own resources and continues to provide social and educational services to the community.

"We have strived to invest in our own knowledge, as that is our greatest asset; thanks to this grant, our specialists were able to attend training courses. Our services are more affordable than those in other cities, such as Bălți or Chișinău. We classify them as 'social' services because our beneficiaries are individuals with specific needs, and we fill that particular niche," explains Ala Stîrcu, director of the ARGO Center.

Currently, 32 children and between 6 and 10 adults regularly benefit from rehabilitation programs. Therapies such as speech therapy and physical therapy involve repeated sessions over several weeks or months. However, the team's capacity limits the number of beneficiaries, and it currently consists of nine specialists.
