The Cabinet of Ministers has approved new general fire protection rules
Objectives in the agricultural, medical, social, industrial and commercial fields must be mandatorily equipped with autonomous smoke detectors and carbon monoxide concentration signalling, in order to ensure fire protection. These provisions are contained in the General Fire Protection Rules in the Republic of Moldova, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The document aims to ensure the safety of people, to reduce the risks of fires in the private and residential sectors, to reduce material damage, but also to ensure the training of the population in the field of fire protection, and to align national safety rules with international standards.
According to the data of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, fires caused in homes represent about 71 percent of all those registered in our country.
