336 new jobs were created with the support of UNDP and UNICEF in Cahul and Ungheni

As many as 336 new jobs were created in Cahul and Ungheni, another 208 were preserved. This was possible thanks to a project implemented by UNDP and UNICEF. The revenues from the sales of the products of the 55 entrepreneurs, beneficiaries of the project, amount to about 300 million euros.

Andrea Cuzyova, Resident Representative a.i. to the Republic of UNDP Moldova emphasized that social projects will ensure a better quality of life in the rural environment. "We handed out three grant certificates for three social enterprises, which will develop. We see by the participation of a large number of entrepreneurs that there is interest. Of course the process is difficult, but some changes are visible. Business development in the Republic of Moldova is in progress. In every developing business there is an opportunity to attract investors”, said Andrea Cuzyova. The "EU for Moldova: Focal Regions" project has a total budget of 23 million euros and runs during the years 2019-2024. To date, 1.4 million euros have been invested by 55 entrepreneurs from the Cahul and Ungheni regions.
