Energocom announces price and quantity of natural gas sold to Moldovagaz
In January-March, SA Energocom sold to Moldovagaz about 275 million cubic meters of natural gas at the weighted average price of $1,095 per thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT). The information was published by Energocom, which said that the price offered was lower than the price at which Gazprom supplied Moldovagaz - $1,107 per thousand cubic meters, excluding VAT.
According to the quoted source, the gas sold by SA Energocom came from strategic stocks, procured from autumn 2022 at stock exchange prices of that period.
"We acted at that time, like all of Europe, by purchasing stocks to be prepared for the energy crisis, with prices comparable or lower than in many countries. We are analysing the offers on the market to start buying gas again, at prices that are more advantageous now compared to those during the cold period," said Energocom SA acting director Victor Bânzari.
The exchange quotations are a reference, plus transport, operational and logistical costs. SA Energocom was empowered by the provisions of the Commission for Exceptional Situations to make gas stocks and then sell them to Moldovagaz.
