More than 120 countries are bound to arrest Vladimir Putin, according to the mandate issued by the International Criminal Court
The arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) obliges the 123 member states by law to arrest both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova. Among the states that recognize the authority of the International Criminal Court are all the countries of the European Union, most of the African states, as well as all the South American countries, apart from Cuba and Nicaragua. Even Tajikistan would be obliged to arrest Vladimir Putin if he entered its territory.
The expert Vlad Mihnenko, who was active at the University of Oxford, told Newsweek that Vladimir Putin could be removed from power by an elite group, which includes the most influential Russian businessmen and leaders.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who was also Prime Minister for 8 years and is now Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, has warned that any attempt to arrest Vladimir Putin would be seen as a declaration of war against Russia.
We remind you that, on March 17, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued an arrest warrant on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, for the illegal deportation of children in Ukraine, considered a war crime.
