The meeting will consider the Constitutional Court's application to review the constitutionality of Articles 15 and 9 of the Law on the Superior Council of Magistrates. The action plan of the SCM for the year 2023 will also be discussed, as well as the approaches of some judges.

The agenda is signed by the acting president of the SCM, Nina Cernat, the only remaining member from the previous composition.

According to the law, the Superior Council of Magistracy has 12 members. Six of them, who are not judges, are appointed by Parliament, with a vote of three-fifths of the elected deputies. It should be noted that the General Assembly of Judges has not yet elected members of the SJC from among the magistrates. The 17 March meeting has been adjourned until 28 April.

The Parliament voted on Thursday 30 March to appoint three candidates to the SCM for a six-year term. They are Tatiana Ciaglic, Ion Guzun and Alexandru Postica.
