Moldova's problems will be discussed at the European Political Community Summit: country leaders will try to find solutions
At the European Political Community Summit in June, leaders from the EU bloc countries will discuss solutions to both our country's problems and those at the European level, says Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu.
The head of diplomacy in Chisinau stressed on a NordNews programme that the participation of European leaders in this meeting shows support for our country's European path.
"It is not a summit dedicated to Moldova itself, it is a summit hosted by the Republic of Moldova and the whole spectrum of problems will be discussed, as well as solutions at European level. It is absolutely crucial for Moldova to have this diplomatic support. It is a unique opportunity to show all European leaders how European the Republic of Moldova is, how determined it is to strengthen its democracy and its membership of the European Union. A summit that helps us to convince as many European leaders as possible to support us in all other platforms where we communicate in the European Union and at the UN and OSCE", said Nicu Popescu.
More than 40 heads of state and government are expected to attend the European Political Community Summit on 1 June in Chisinau. The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, was recently in Bucharest on a visit and confirmed his presence at the event.
