Dumitru Alaiba: A delegation of the European Parliament Committee will visit the Republic of Moldova

A delegation of the European Parliament's Committee for International Trade will pay a visit to Chisinau in February 2023. The announcement was made by the Minister of Economy, Dumitru Alaiba, who is on a working visit to Brussels.

The official had several meetings with European parliamentarians, where he discussed the support mechanisms for SMEs that the Republic of Moldova can benefit from in the context of the EU candidate country status. It was also reiterated the need to capitalize on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. Dumitru Alaiba mentioned the current challenges for exporters from the Republic of Moldova as a result of the war in Ukraine. He stated that additional measures are needed to support them, at the same time reiterating the commitment of the Chisinau authorities to create a favorable investment climate for economic agents.
