Electricity could become cheaper. ANRE has announced the date of the meeting to approve the new tariffs
The National Energy Regulatory Agency's Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday 12 April to consider and approve new electricity tariffs.
According to applications submitted by electricity suppliers, consumers in the centre and south of the country could pay 33 cents less and those in the north could pay 30 cents less per kilowatt-hour.
Energocom recently signed a new contract to purchase electricity from the Cuciurgan power plant for six months. The price per MWh is $66, $7 less than in the last four months.
Immediately afterwards, the National Agency for Energy Regulation announced that it would consider adjusting the electricity tariff and asked suppliers to submit adjustment requests by 7 April, so that legal procedures to reduce tariffs and prices could start as soon as possible.
