Coordinated control at the Leuseni-Albița crossing point successfully tested
Border and customs authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania have today implemented, on a test basis, coordinated control at the Leuseni-Albița border crossing point on the territory of Romania.
During the test exercise, the control procedures at the state border crossing in the direction of exit from the Republic of Moldova were carried out within the infrastructure of the Albița border crossing point on the territory of Romania. Thus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announces that the exercise was successfully completed.
"The final adjustments of the necessary infrastructure, as well as the internal procedures on the Romanian side for the entry into force of the bilateral agreement will be made next," the Interior Ministry informs.
The agreement between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Romania on coordinated control at the Leuseni-Albița crossing point on the way into Romania was initiated due to the need of both states to have new and complex mechanisms to ensure border security and to resist the challenges brought by the war.
