The Republic of Moldova will be able to import and export more energy from and to the European Union
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) has increased by 200 MW to 1,050 MW the capacity for electricity trade from Continental Europe to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
According to Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, our country will be able to benefit from this increase from May, once the interconnection between Ukraine/Moldova and Continental Europe is strengthened.
The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine synchronised their energy systems with the continental one (ENTSO-E) in February 2022, and since then the capacity available for trading between the two systems has increased to 850MW maximum export capacity to the EU and 400 MW maximum import capacity at any time.
