Kiev under drone attack after more than 20 days' break
The Ukrainian military announced Friday that it shot down eight of 12 Iranian-made Shahed drones that Russia launched against Kiev on Thursday night - an attack that resulted in no casualties, AFP reports.

"After a respite of 25 days, the Ukrainian capital has again been attacked by enemy air strikes," the head of Kiev's military administration, Sergei Popko, announced on Telegram.
Eight drones were shot down "near the city", causing no casualties or damage, according to preliminary data, he said.
Instead, infrastructure in the Poltava (central) and Vinnitsa (central-western) regions was hit, according to their governors.
The drones were launched from the Russian region of Bryansk, located north of Ukraine.
These explosive drones are at the centre of a series of attacks launched by Russia since the autumn, targeting Ukraine's critical infrastructure and temporarily leaving millions of Ukrainians without heat, water and electricity over the winter.
