"Both countries share a commitment to EU integration. And as we succeed in moving forward on this path, we are grateful that Moldova is protected by the shield of Ukrainian heroes," the prime minister wrote on Twitter.

Also today, Dmytro Kuleba met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, who also reconfirmed our country's support for the war-affected neighbouring country.

"Since the first day of the war, the Republic of Moldova has been helping our Ukrainian neighbours by supporting refugees, securing supply routes to and from Ukraine and will continue to provide support in this regard, including by participating in the implementation of the Corridors of Solidarity initiative."

In the context of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine obtaining the status of candidate countries for accession to the European Union, the two diplomats expressed their common interest in closer interaction in the field of the EU accession process, but also on a bilateral level.
