The Republic of Moldova and Romania will cooperate in the digitization process
The Republic of Moldova and Romania aim to advance in the digitization process and facilitate the access of citizens on both banks of the Prut to digital services. The Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization from Romania, Sebastian Burduja, on a working visit to Chisinau, stated that his country will provide more funds for the development of this sector, and the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Țurcanu said that this will boost bilateral cooperation.
The digital space between the Republic of Moldova and Romania means a common exchange of data, the promotion of bilateral cooperation and the development of digital services accessible to citizens on both banks of the Prut, says the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization, Iurie Țurcanu. "We aligned the institutions to the same strategic objectives and the same time frame. It is very important that all institutions involved in the digitization process look in the same direction, have their capabilities aligned and the objectives set accordingly. Also during this period, we identified a series of legal mechanisms through which we could reuse digital solutions that we created, here in the Republic of Moldova, to reuse them in Romania", mentioned Iurie Țurcanu. The relationship with the Republic of Moldova is a strategic priority, mentioned the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization from Romania, Sebastian Burduja, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The Romanian official stated that next year Romania will provide more funds for the development of this sector and for scientific research in the Republic of Moldova. "In this common digital space, we are discussing more dimensions. The most important dimension for Romania is that of digital public services, where we must accelerate. We are also discussing the area of digital skills because we can have very good services, electronic public services, but we must also prepare the citizens on both banks of the Prut to benefit from these services. We are happy that today there is, I think, a historic step for the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova and for the two global companies that are in Chisinau today, Microsoft and UiPath", noted Sebastian Burduja, The meeting of the intergovernmental Commission for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of digital transformation between the Republic of Moldova and Romania is being held in Chisinau. During the meeting, the achievements of the first half year since the establishment of the Commission will be discussed, as well as the common objectives for cooperation and development of the common digital space of Romania and the Republic of Moldova will be formulated. We remind you that in June, Romania and the Republic of Moldova signed the creation of a Joint Commission responsible for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of digital transformation between both countries, signed in February in Chisinau.
