The Victory March and the "Immortal Regiment" march take place in the centre of the capital
At this hour, the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) is holding the Victory March and the "Immortal Regiment" march, which starts in front of the Government and will end at the "Eternity" Memorial Complex. Although earlier representatives of the Shor Party said they would also participate in the march, so far no one has joined.
The demonstrators are carrying two-coloured ribbons, red flags, blue flags, flags of the Republic of Moldova and chanting "Victory!". There are many children in the crowd. The procession is accompanied by a brass band. The marchers are accompanied along the entire route by carabinieri, who ensure public order.
The marchers set off on Mitropolit Gavriile Bănulescu-Bodoni Street, then on A. Mateevici Street. Because of this, the circulation of public transport on bd. Stefan cel Mare cel Mare și Sfânt, from Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni street to M. Viteazul street was stopped.
Also today, on the occasion of Europe Day in Chisinau, leaders of several pro-European parties gathered in the Europe Square in Stefan cel Mare Park. They signed a declaration pledging to contribute to Moldova's accession to the European Union.
