An office of the Embassy of Greece will soon be opened in the Republic of Moldova. The subject was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicu Popescu, with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Konstantinos Fragkogiannis.

During the discussions, officials also addressed the cooperation in the energy sector between the Republic of Moldova and Greece, as well as the need to create economic relations.

"We reaffirmed that our strategic objective is accession to the European Union. In this context, we expressed our gratitude for Greece's constant support in the modernization process of the Republic of Moldova and in our efforts to become part of the EU. I also mentioned the progress we would have made in implementing the nine recommendations of the European Commission. We rely on Greece's support in starting the EU accession negotiations by the end of this year," said Nicu Popescu.

We remind that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece, Konstantinos Fragkogiannis, is leading an official delegation at the fourth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.
