Meeting of the Constitutional Court, postponed until Tuesday

The meeting of the Constitutional Court in which the constitutionality of the "ŞOR" Party is checked was postponed to Tuesday, at 10:00. This was announced by the president of CCM, Nicolae Roșca.

The Constitutional Court continued on Monday, for the fourth day, the examination of the Government's referral regarding the verification of the constitutionality of the "Sor" Political Party. The team's lawyers requested to see several video materials, insisting that they be attached to the file. The action was partially accepted by the magistrates. Meanwhile, a group of sympathizers of the formation protested in front of the Constitutional Court, and the police warned that they had identified prohibited items owned by some participants.

At the beginning of the meeting, the representatives of the "Sor" Party requested the viewing of 12 video sequences during the trial. They claim that there is evidence that proves that the protests organized by the Şor party were not violent. This was also backed by deputy Marina Tauber, under house arrest, but present in the hall.

Later, the lawyers of the formation requested to be attached to the file several documents presenting the achievements of the Şor party in the territory, starting from 2015 until today. After deliberations, the Constitutional Court decided to reject this approach, considering it irrelevant.

In the question-and-answer round, the judges of the Constitutional Court asked several questions regarding the legality of the formation's financing, and the President of the Court Nicolae Roșca asked if the lawyers knew the origin of about 5 million lei seized by the prosecutors.

In response, the party's lawyer Aureliu Colenco mentioned that he does not know who the money belongs to, and the file is under the management of the prosecutors.

Several sympathizers of the party protested in front of the Constitutional Court, while the Government's referral regarding the constitutionality of the "Sor" Party was being examined. At the same time, the General Inspectorate of the Police announced that it had detected prohibited items on some protesters.

Previously, the Constitutional Court announced that the Executive's approach regarding the verification of the constitutionality of the Şor Party will be examined between May 10-17, 2023.
