Direct flights from Chisinau to the USA: The Government of the Republic of Moldova and the United States will sign an agreement
The Government of the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America will sign, on Thursday, an Agreement on the liberalization of air transport, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development told Radio Moldova. This fact will allow the operation of direct flights from Chisinau to destinations in the United States of America.
In February of this year, the Executive approved the signing of the Agreement called "Open Skies". Thanks to it, the relations between the air operators of both states will be strengthened, reads the Government decision approved at that time.
Also, the development of passenger traffic between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America is expected to create new jobs, as well as direct benefits for consumers, which will be reflected in quality services, reduced fares and shorter travel times.
The agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the United States of America regarding air transport has been forwarded to the signing procedure for several years. The approval procedure started in 2017, and will be signed on May 18.
We mention that the Republic of Moldova has agreements concluded in the field of air services with 20 countries, including Romania, Turkey and others, and their number is constantly increasing.
