Stay safe for Paștele Blajinilor: Fire & traffic warnings

Ahead of Paștele Blajinilor (Post-Easter Commemoration of the Dead), the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) urges citizens to observe fire prevention rules to avoid unwanted incidents in cemeteries and places of worship.
The police also issue warnings and recommendations, announcing that on Sunday and Monday, patrol officers will be present in affected areas to maintain public order and safety, as well as to manage road traffic flow in congested areas.
Firefighters and rescuers warn citizens that grave cleaning should be done with care, taking care not to ignite dry vegetation and waste, and waste should only be deposited in specially designated areas. Furthermore, wreaths and artificial flowers should not be left close to sources of ignition. Adults are urged not to leave children unsupervised, particularly near flammable materials.
IGSU representatives also provide recommendations on safety measures in places of worship.
Specifically, candles and oil lamps must only be used in safe locations, away from combustible materials. It is also recommended to avoid overcrowding during religious services, and evacuation routes must be kept clear. The fire service emphasizes that parking personal cars near churches is prohibited to avoid blocking access for emergency vehicles.

The police also urge drivers and pedestrians to exercise extra caution in traffic. Also, extra attention should be paid to the constant supervision of children. Citizens are urged to observe a few basic safety rules such as locking their homes before leaving and keeping personal belongings in safe places. Police warn that most conflicts occur due to intoxication and urge people to avoid consuming alcohol in public spaces. Another recommendation is to avoid parking on the roadway or in prohibited areas.
The General Police Inspectorate announces that in Chișinău, on Sunday and Monday, traffic for private vehicles will be suspended on Socoleni Street – between Ceucari and Doina Streets, and on Doina Street – the section between Vasile Badiu Street and Balcani Highway.
